The river furnishes See also:good See also:water-See also:power, and the city has various manufactures, including See also:lumber, See also:paper, See also:wood pulp, match blocks and boxes. The first See also:mill was built in 1878, and the See also:village was named from the See also:French word claquet (See also:sound of the mill). Cloquet was incorporated as a village in 1883 and was chartered as a city in 1903.
