COMORIN, CAPE , a headland in the See also:state of See also:Travancore, forming the extreme See also:southern point of the See also:peninsula of See also:India. It is situated in 8° 4' 20" N., 770 35' 35° E., and is the terminating point of the western See also:Ghats. The See also:village of Comorin, with the See also:temple of Kanniyambal, the " virgin goddess," on the See also:coast at the See also:apex of the headland, is a frequented See also:place of See also:pilgrimage.
