Cordes, which covers the See also:summit and slopes of an isolated See also:hill, was a See also:bastide founded by See also:Raymond VII., See also:count of See also:Toulouse, in the first See also:half of the 13th See also:century. It preserves its See also:medieval aspect to a remarkable degree, a large number of houses of the 13th and 14th centuries, with decorated fronts, forming its See also:chief attraction. A See also:church of the same periods and remains of the See also:original ramparts are also to be seen.
