DALMELLINGTON , a See also:

village of See also:Ayrshire, See also:Scotland, 15 m. S.E. of See also:Ayr by a See also:branch See also:line, of which it is the See also:terminus, of the See also:Glasgow & See also:South-Western railway. Pop. (1901) 1448. The See also:district is See also:rich in minerals—coal, ironstone, See also:sandstone and See also:limestone. Though the See also:place is of See also:great antiquity, the See also:Roman road See also:running near it, few remains of any See also:interest exist. It was, however, a centre of activity in the Covenanting times.
