EMBASSY , the See also:

office of an See also:ambassador, or, more generally, the See also:mission on which an ambassador of one See also:power is sent to another, or the See also:body of See also:official personages attached to such a mission, whether temporary or permanent. Hence " embassy " is often quite loosely used of any mission, See also:diplomatic or other-See also:wise. The word is also used of the official See also:residence of an ambassador. "Embassy " was originally " ambassy," the See also:form used in the 17th See also:century, but by the See also:time of See also:Johnson considered quite obsolete. " Ambassy " is from the 0.
