He became secretary to See also:Paul See also:Feval, and, after See also:publishing some novels and See also:miscellaneous writings, found his real See also:gift in L'A.See also:aire Lerouge (1866), a detective novel which was published in the Pays and at once made his reputation. The See also:story was produced on the See also:stage in 1872. A See also:long See also:series of novels dealing with the See also:annals of the See also:police See also:court followed, and proved very popular. Among them are: Le See also:Crime d'Orcival (1867) f See also:Monsieur Lecoq (1869), La See also:Vie infernale (187o), See also:Les Esclaves de See also:Paris (1869), L' Argent See also:des autres (1874). Gaboriau died in Paris on the 28th of See also:September 1873.
