KHUNSAR , a See also:

town of See also:Persia, sometimes belonging to the See also:province of See also:Isfahan, at others to See also:Irak, 96 m. N.W. of Isfahan, in 33° 9' N., 5o° 23' E., at an See also:elevation of 7600 ft. Pop., about 10,000. It is picturesquely situated on both sides of a narrow valley through which the Khunsar See also:River, a stream about 12 ft. wide, flows in a See also:north-See also:east direction to Kuom. The town and its See also:fine gardens and orchards straggle some 6 m. along the valley with a mean breadth of scarcely See also:half a mile. There is a See also:great profusion of See also:fruit, the apples yielding a See also:kind of See also:cider which, however, does not keep longer than a See also:month. The See also:climate is cool in summer and See also:cold in See also:winter. There are five caravanserais, three mosques and a See also:post See also:office.
