KIZIL IRMAK , i.e. " Red See also:

River " (anc. Halys), the largest river in See also:Asia See also:Minor, rising in the Kizil Dagh at an See also:altitude of 65oo ft., and See also:running See also:south-See also:west past See also:Zara to See also:Sivas. Below Sivas it flows south to the See also:latitude of Kaisarieh, and then curves gradually See also:round to the See also:north. Finally, after a course of about boo m., it discharges its See also:waters into the See also:Black See also:Sea between See also:Sinope and See also:Samsun, where it forms a large See also:delta. The only important tributaries are the Delije Irmak on the right and the Geuk Irmak on the See also:left See also:bank.
