(1903) 34,454; in 1903, after the See also:census had been taken, the See also:municipality of See also:San See also:Nicolas (pop. 1903, ro,88o) was added to Laoag. Laoag is on an extensive See also:coast See also:plain, behind which is a picturesque range of hills; it is well built and is noted for its See also:fine See also:climate, the name " Laoag " signifying " clear." It is especially well equipped for handling See also:rice, which is shipped in large quantities; See also:Indian See also:corn, See also:tobacco and See also:sugar are also shipped. See also:Cotton is grown in the vicinity, and is See also:woven by the See also:women into fabrics, which find a ready See also:sale among the See also:pagan tribes of the mountains. The See also:language is Ilocano.
