LINGAYEN , a See also:

See also:shore of the Gulf of Lingayen, and on a See also:low and fertile See also:island in the See also:delta of the Agno See also:river. Pop. (1903) 21,529. It has See also:good See also:government buildings, a See also:fine See also:church and plaza, the provincial high school and a girls' school conducted by See also:Spanish Dominican friars. The See also:climate is cool and healthy. The See also:chief See also:industries are the cultivation of See also:rice (the most important See also:crop of the surrounding See also:country), fishing and the making of nipa-See also:wine from the juice of the nipa See also:palm, which grows abundantly in the neighbouring swamps. The See also:principal See also:language is Pangasinan; Ilocano is also spoken.
