Pop. (1897) 16,353. The town is built of See also:wood and the streets are unpaved. There are See also:sugar, See also:tallow, and See also:leather See also:works, and distilleries, and an active See also:trade in horses, See also:cattle, tallow, skins, See also:honey and See also:timber. The Lipetsk See also:mineral springs (chalybeate) came into repute in the See also:time of See also:Peter the See also:Great and attract a See also:good many visitors.
