LUBBEN , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the Prussian See also:province of See also:Brandenburg, on the See also:Spree, 47 M. S.S.E. of See also:Berlin, on the railway to See also:Gorlitz. Pop. (1905) 7173. It is the See also:chief town of the See also:Spreewald, and has saw-See also:mills and manufactories of See also:hosiery, shoes and See also:paper, and is famous for its gurken, or small pickling cucumbers. The poet See also:Paul See also:Gerhardt (1607–1676) was pastor here and is buried in the See also:parish See also:church.
