He wrote a poem entitled Zodiacus vitae, published at See also:Basel in 1543, and dedicated to See also:Hercules II. of Ferrara. The poem is full of didactic See also:writing on the subject of human happiness in connexion with scientific knowledge, and combines metaphysical See also:speculation with satirical attacks on ecclesiastical See also:hypocrisy, and especially on the See also:Pope and on See also:Luther. It was translated into several See also:languages, but See also:fell under the See also:ban of the See also:Inquisition on the ground of its rationalizing tendencies.
