MORAR , a See also:

town of Central See also:India, in the native See also:state of See also:Gwalior, 3 M. E. of Gwalior See also:city. Pop. (1901), 19,179. It was formerly a See also:British military See also:cantonment and See also:residence of a See also:political See also:agent, but in 1886, when the fortress of Gwalior was restored to Sindhia, the troops at Morar were withdrawn to See also:Jhansi, and the extensive See also:barracks were likewise made over to Sindhia. In the See also:Mutiny of 1857 Morar was the See also:scene of the most serious uprising in Central India.
