N.W. by N. from See also:London by the London & See also:North-Western railway; served also by the Midland railway. Pop. (19o1), 11,798. A See also:fine See also:promenade extends along the See also:shore; there are a See also:quay and a See also:pier, a See also:winter See also:garden, and all the appointments of a seaside resort. The Midland railway is the See also:harbour authority. The See also:town was incorporated in 1902, and the See also:corporation consists of a See also:mayor, 6 aldermen and 16 councillors. The former alternative name was Poulton-le-Sands. See also:Area, 18ot acres.
