The ewes are either hornless or provided with quite small horns, the hornless See also:form being probably characteristic of one See also:island and the horned of the other. The rams carry See also:good horns, and in summer show a conspicuous See also:light See also:saddle-shaped See also:mark on the otherwise dark-coloured coat. The Armenian mouflon (0. orientalis), of See also:Persia, See also:Armenia, and the Troodos range of See also:Cyprus, is typically a larger and redder sheep, with the horns curving in the See also:reverse direction; but the See also:Cyprian See also:race is small.
