SHEEP .--Vary much in See also:

size and in quality of See also:wool. Many of the domestic See also:kind in central and See also:northern See also:Europe and See also:Canada are used for drivers' and peasants' coat linings, &c. In See also:Great See also:Britain many coats of the See also:home-reared sheep, having wools two and a See also:half to five inches See also:long, are dyed various See also:colours and used as See also:floor rugs. Skins with very See also:short wool are dyed See also:black and used for military See also:saddle-cloths. The bulk, however, is used in the wool See also:trade. The Hungarian peasants are very fond of their natural See also:brown sheep coats, the See also:leather See also:side of which is not lined, but embellished by a very See also:close See also:fancy See also:embroidery, worked upon the leather itself; these garments are reversible, the See also:fur being worn inside when the See also:weather is See also:cold. See also:Chinese sheep are largely used for cheap rugs. Value of See also:English sheep from 3s. to 10s.
