PALNI HILLS , a range of hills in See also:

south See also:India, in the See also:Madura See also:district of See also:Madras. They are an offshoot from the Western See also:Ghats, and, while distinct from the adjacent Anamalai Hills, See also:form See also:part of the same See also:system. They contain the See also:hill station of See also:Kodaikanal (7200 ft.), which has a milder and more equable See also:climate than Ootacamund in the Nilgiri Hills. There is some See also:coffee cultivation on the See also:lower slopes.
