The administrative headquarters are at See also:Bela. See also:Area, 1442 sq. m.; pop. (1901), 912,848. The only See also:mineral products are See also:salt, See also:saltpetre and kankar or nodular See also:limestone. The See also:principal crops are See also:rice, See also:barley, See also:pulse, millets, See also:sugar-See also:cane and See also:poppy. The district is traversed by the See also:branch of the Oudh & See also:Rohilkhand railway from See also:Rae See also:Bareilly to See also:Benares, opened in 1898. There are manufactures of sugar and a little See also:silk; and See also:grain, See also:opium, oil-seeds, See also:hemp and hides are exported.
