PLOMBIBRES , a See also:

town of eastern See also:France, in the See also:department of See also:Vosges, on a See also:branch See also:line of the Eastern railway, 17 M. S. of Epinal by road. Pop. (1906), 1882. The town is situated at a height of 1410 ft. in a picturesque valley watered by the Augronne. It is well known for its See also:mineral springs, containing See also:sodium sulphate and silicic See also:acid, varying from 66° to 166° F. Plombieres has a handsome See also:modern See also:church and a statue of the painter See also:Louis Frangais, See also:born in the town in 1814. The See also:waters were utilized by the See also:Romans and during the See also:middle ages. In later times See also:Montaigne, See also:Richelieu, Stanislas, See also:duke of See also:Lorraine and See also:Voltaire were among the distinguished See also:people who visited the See also:place.
