The Rhymney See also:river, in the upper valley of which this See also:town lies, forms almost throughout its course, to the See also:estuary of the See also:Severn near Cardiff, the boundary between England and See also:Wales (Monmouthshire and Glamorganshire). In its upper See also:part the valley, like others adjacent and parallel to it, is populous with See also:mining townships, and the town of Rhymney owes its importance to the neighbouring See also:coal-mines and to its See also:iron and See also:steel See also:works, which employ nearly the whole See also:population. The works of the Rhymney Iron See also:Company, including blast furnaces and See also:rolling See also:mills, are among the largest of the See also:kind in England.
