He was the most popular, and in many ways the most typical German illustrator of the See also:middle of the 19th See also:century. His See also:work is as typically German and homely as are the See also:fairy-tales of See also:Grimm. Richter visited See also:Italy froth 1823–26, and his " See also:Thunder-See also:storm in the See also:Sabine Mountains " at the Staedel See also:Institute in See also:Frankfort is one of the rare See also:Italian subjects from his See also:brush. In 1828 he worked as designer for the See also:Meissen factory, and in 1841 he became See also:professor and See also:head of the landscape atelier at the Dresden See also:Academy: The Dresden See also:Gallery owns one of his best and most characteristic paintings in the " Bridal Procession in a See also:Spring Landscape." He died at Loschwitz near Dresden in 1884.
