SUBJECTIVISM , a philosophical See also:term, applied in See also:general to all theories which See also:lay stress on the purely See also:mental sides of experience opposed to See also:objectivism. In the narrowest sense subjectivism goes to the logical extreme of denying that mind can know See also:objects at all (cf. See also:SOLIPSISM). The See also:doctrine originates in the fact that the most elementary psychic phenomena pre-suppose in addition to the data of the senses (which as such are momentary) a combining See also:action of the mind.
