TEMPIO PAUSANIA , a See also:

town of See also:Sardinia, in the See also:province of See also:Sassari, from which town it is 52 M. E.N.E. by road. It is also reached by See also:rail by a See also:branch See also:line (25 m.) N.W. from the See also:main line from See also:Terranova to Cagliari, leaving the latter at Monti, 14 m. S.W. of Terranova. Pop. (1901) 6511 (town), 14,573 (See also:commune). It lies in a mountainous See also:district 1856 ft. above See also:sea-level, to the N.N.W. of the See also:Monte Limbara. It is the See also:chief town of the Gallura, and has been an episcopal see since the 19th See also:century (with Ampurias). The See also:cathedral is a See also:modern See also:building. The district is agricultural and See also:pastoral. The costumes are picturesque, especially those of the See also:women. For the name Pausania see TERRANOVA PAUSANIA.
