LOUIS (1822-1889) , See also:French writer, was See also:born at See also:Troyes (See also:Aube) on the 7th of See also:March 1822. He was encouraged to take up a See also:literary career by See also:Victor See also:Hugo. He became dramatic critic of the Temps, and attracted See also:attention by a See also:series of satirical letters addressed to the See also:Figaro over the See also:signature of " Ferragus," and published separately in 1868. He edited the Revue de See also:Paris until its suppression in 1858, and in 1868 he founded a See also:paper, La Clothe, which was suppressed in 1869 for its hostility to the See also:empire. Ulbach was imprisoned for six months, and when on his See also:release he revived the paper he got into trouble both with the See also:commune and the See also:government, and was again imprisoned in 1871-1872. In 1878 he was made librarian of the See also:arsenal, and died in Paris on the 16th of See also:April 1888.
