YPSILANTI , a See also:

city of Washtenaw See also:county, See also:Michigan, U.S.A., on the See also:Huron See also:river, 30 M. W. by S. of See also:Detroit. Pop. (1900) 7378; ;1904) 7587; (1910) 6230. It is served by the Michigan Central and the See also:Lake See also:Shore & Michigan See also:Southern See also:railways, and is the seat of the Michigan See also:State Normal See also:College (1849). There are various manufactures. Ypsilanti was laid out and named in See also:honour of See also:Demetrius Ypsilanti, the See also:Greek patriot, in 1825; it was incorporated as a See also:village in 1832, and chartered as a city in 1858.
