BAVENO , a See also:

town of See also:Piedmont, See also:Italy, in the See also:province of See also:Novara, on the See also:west See also:shore of Lago See also:Maggiore, 13 M. N,N. W. of See also:Arona by See also:rail. Pop. (19or) 2502. It is much frequented as a resort in See also:spring, summer and autumn, and has many beautiful villas. To the See also:north-west are the famous red See also:granite quarries, which have supplied the columns for the See also:cathedral of See also:Milan, the See also:church of S. See also:Paolo fuori le Mura at See also:Rome, the Galleria See also:Vittorio Emanuele at Milan, and other important buildings.
