BORAS , a See also:

town of See also:Sweden, in the See also:district (l¢n) of Elfsborg, 45 M. E. of See also:Gothenburg by See also:rail, on the See also:river Viske. Pop. (188o) 4723; (1900) 15,837. It ranks among the first twelve towns in Sweden both in See also:population and in the value of its manufacturing See also:industries. These are principally textile, as there are numerous See also:cotton See also:spinning and See also:weaving See also:mills, together with a technical weaving school. The town was founded in 1632 by See also:King Gustavus See also:Adolphus.
