BURRIANA , a seaport of eastern See also:

Spain, in the See also:province of Castellon de la Plana; on the See also:estuary of the See also:river Seas, which flows into the Mediterranean See also:Sea. Pop. (1900) 12,962. The See also:harbour of Burriana on the open sea is annually visited by about three See also:hundred small See also:coasting-vessels. Its exports consist chiefly of oranges grown in the surrounding fertile See also:plain, which is irrigated with See also:water from the river Mijares, on the See also:north, and also produces large quantities of See also:grain, oil, See also:wine and melons. Burriana is connected by a See also:light railway with the neighbouring towns of Onda (6595), A1maz6ra (7076), See also:Villarreal (16,o68) and Castellon de la Plana (29,904). Its nearest station on the See also:Barcelona-See also:Valencia See also:coast railway is Villarreal.
