N.E. of See also:Stafford, and the See also:terminus of a See also:branch See also:line from See also:Cresswell on the See also:North Staffordshire railway. Pop. (1901) 5186. The See also:Roman See also:Catholic See also:church of St See also:Giles, with a lofty See also:spire, was designed by See also:Pugin and erected in 1846. The interior is lavishly decorated. There are considerable collieries in the neighbourhood, and See also:silk and tape See also:works in the town. In the neighbouring Froghall See also:district See also:limestone is quarried, and there are manufactures of See also:copper. In Cheadle two fairs of See also:ancient origin are held annually.
