William Blizard, he became assistant-surgeon to the London See also:hospital in 1833, becoming full surgeon in 1849. After filling other important posts in the See also:College of Surgeons, he was appointed See also:president in 1873. In 1843 he won the Jacksonian See also:prize for his investigations on See also:tetanus; and he became famous for his skill in treating diseases of the testes and rectum, his published See also:works on which went through many See also:editions. He died on the 4th of See also:March 1888.
