CURLING, See also:THOMAS BLIZARD (1811-1888) , See also:British surgeon, was See also:born in See also:London in 1811. Through his See also:uncle, See also:Sir See also:William Blizard, he became assistant-surgeon to the London See also:hospital in 1833, becoming full surgeon in 1849. After filling other important posts in the See also:College of Surgeons, he was appointed See also:president in 1873. In 1843 he won the Jacksonian See also:prize for his investigations on See also:tetanus; and he became famous for his skill in treating diseases of the testes and rectum, his published See also:works on which went through many See also:editions. He died on the 4th of See also:March 1888.
