To Dionysius, who was elected pope in 259 after the persecution of See also:Valerian, See also:fell the task of reorganizing the See also:Roman See also:church, which had fallen into See also:great disorder. At the protest of some of the faithful at See also:Alexandria, he demanded from the See also:bishop of Alexandria, also called Dionysius, explanations touching his See also:doctrine. He died on the 26th of See also:December 268.
