W.S.W. of it by See also:rail, situated on an isolated See also:hill, 885 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (1901) 5468 (town), 15,243 (See also:commune). The See also:cathedral has a See also:fine polygonal See also:apse of the 16th See also:century. The Palazzo del Consiglio, now a See also:theatre, is attributed to See also:Palladio. At one end of the See also:chief square of the town, the Piazza See also:Maggiore, is the cistern by which the town is supplied with See also:water, and a large See also:fountain. Thereare some remains of the See also:medieval See also:castle. The See also:ancient Feltria, which See also:lay on the road (Via Claudia) from Opitergium to Tridenturn, does not seem to have been a See also:place of any importance under the See also:Romans. Vittorino dei Rambaldoni da Feltre (1378-1446) was a famous educator and philosopher of his See also:time.
