FRIEDRICHSDORF , a See also:

town of See also:Germany, in the Prussian See also:province of See also:Hesse-See also:Nassau, on the See also:southern slope of the See also:Taunus range, 3 M. N.E. from Homburg. Pop. 1300. It has a See also:French Reformed See also:church, a See also:modern school, dyeworks, See also:weaving See also:mills, tanneries and See also:tobacco manufactures. Friedrichsdorf was founded in 1687 by Huguenot refugees and the inhabitants still speak French. There is a See also:monument to Philipp Reis (1834-1874), who in 186o first constructed the See also:telephone while a See also:science See also:master at the school.
