It is one of the See also:hill states that came under See also:British See also:protection after the first See also:Sikh See also:war in 1846. The Gurkhas had overrun the See also:country in the See also:early See also:part of the 19th See also:century, and expelled the See also:raja, who was, however, reinstated by the British in 1815. The state occupies part of the See also:basin of the See also:Sutlej amid the See also:lower slopes of the See also:Himalaya. See also:Area, 448 sq. m. Pop. (1901), 90,873; estimated See also:gross See also:revenue, £io,000; See also:tribute, £530. The See also:chief, whose See also:title is raja, is a Chandel See also:Rajput.
