LERICI , a See also:

village of See also:Liguria, See also:Italy, situated on the N.E. See also:side of the Gulf of See also:Spezia, about 12 M. E.S.E. of Spezia, and 4 M. W.S.W. of See also:Sarzana by road, 17 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (1901) 9326. Its small See also:harbour is guarded by an old See also:castle, said to have been built by See also:Tancred; in the See also:middle ages it was the See also:chief See also:place on the gulf. S. Terenzo, a See also:hamlet belonging to Lerici, was the See also:residence of See also:Shelley during his last days. Farther See also:north-See also:west is the See also:Bay of Pertusola, with its large See also:lead-smelting See also:works.
