LORALAI , a See also:town and See also:district of See also:India, in See also:Baluchistan. The town, which is situated 4700 ft. above the See also:sea,.35 m. by road from the railway station of Harnai, was occupied as a military station in 1886, and has quarters for a native See also:cavalry and a native See also:infantry See also:regiment. Pop. (1901) 3561. The DISTRICT OF LORALAI was formed in 1903. It consists of a See also:series of See also:long, narrow valleys, hemmed in by rugged mountains, and bordered E. by Dera See also:Ghazi See also:Khan district of the See also:Punjab. See also:Area 7999 sq. m.; pop. (1901) 67,864, of whom the See also:majority are Afghans. The See also:principal crops are See also:wheat and See also:millet; but the See also:chief See also:wealth of the inhabitants is derived from their herds of See also:cattle, See also:sheep and goats.
