MAZARR6N , a See also:

town of eastern See also:Spain, in the See also:province of See also:Murcia, 19 M. W. of See also:Cartagena. Pop. (1900), 23,284. There are See also:soap and See also:flour See also:mills and metallurgic factories in the town, and See also:iron, See also:copper and See also:lead mines in the neighbouring Sierra de Almenara. A railway 5 m. See also:long unites Mazarr6n to its See also:port on the Mediterranean, where there is a suburb with 2500 inhabitants (mostly engaged in See also:fisheries and See also:coasting See also:trade), containing See also:barracks, a See also:custom-See also:house, and important leadworks. Outside of the suburb there are saltpans, most of the proceeds of which are exported to See also:Galicia.
