WILLIAM (1805-188o) , Scottish agriculturist, was See also:born at Tillyfour, See also:Aberdeenshire, where he founded the See also:herd of See also:black-polled See also:cattle with which his name is associated. He was the first See also:tenant See also:farmer to represent a Scottish See also:constituency, and was returned to See also:parliament, unopposed, as Liberal member for the western See also:division of See also:Aberdeen in 1868. He died unmarried in See also:February 1880. His See also:work Cattle and Cattle-breeders (1867) passed into a See also:fourth edition in 1886.
