town of the See also:province of See also:Perugia, See also:Italy, 6 m. S.W. of See also:Foligno, situated on a See also:hill, 1550 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (1901), 3397 (town); 5726 (See also:commune). Its churches contain a number of pictures of the Umbrian school; S. See also:Francesco has See also:good frescoes (scenes from the See also:life of S. See also:Francis) of 1452, by Benozzo See also:Gozzoli, in the See also:choir. There is also a communal picture-See also:gallery in the picturesque Palezzo Comunale.
