PLATTSMOUTH , a See also:

city and the See also:county-seat of See also:Cass county, See also:Nebraska, U.S.A., situated in the valley and on the bluffs of the See also:Missouri See also:river near the mouth of the See also:Platte. Pop. (1900), 4964 (979 See also:foreign-See also:born); (1910) 4287. It is served by the See also:Chicago, See also:Burlington & See also:Quincy, and the Missouri Pacific railway systems. There are railway See also:car-shops, and a considerable See also:trade is done in See also:grain and See also:cattle. A trading-See also:post licensed by the See also:United States See also:government was opened here in 1853, and a See also:town platted in 18J4. Plattsmouth was first incorporated as a city in 1855, being one of the See also:oldest settlements and cities of the See also:state.
