It is connected by See also:rail (186 m.) with Bologoye, on the See also:line between St See also:Petersburg and See also:Moscow. It derives its importance from its situation on the See also:Volga, opposite the mouth of the Sheksna, which connects the Volga with the regions around See also:Lake See also:Ladoga. Rybinsk has also an active See also:trade in agricultural products from the neighbouring districts.
