He emigrated to the See also:United States in 1850, and was identified with the See also:art See also:life of New See also:York until his See also:death. In 1858 he was elected to full membership in the See also:National See also:Academy of See also:Design, New York. He died at See also:Yonkers, New York, on the 28th of See also:April 1905. He painted barnyard fowls and See also:wild birds as well as See also:sheep and See also:deer, with See also:great dexterity, and reproductions of his See also:minute panels of chickens had an enormous See also:vogue.
