town of See also:Germany, in the Prussian See also:province of See also:Silesia, 39 M. S.W. of See also:Breslau by the See also:line to Hirschberg and See also:Gorlitz Pop. (1905) 16,435. It contains a handsome town See also:hall, three See also:Protestant and two See also:Roman See also:Catholic churches. See also:Walden-See also:burg lies in the centre of the productive See also:coal See also:district of the Waldenburger Gebirge, a See also:branch of the Sudetic See also:chain, and its inhabitants are largely occupied in the See also:mining See also:industry. Among other See also:industrial establishments are a large See also:porcelain and earthen-See also:ware factory, extensive fireclay See also:works, glassworks and a See also:china-See also:painting See also:establishment; there are also numerous See also:flax-spinneries and See also:linen-factories in the neighbourhood. Adjoining the town on the See also:south is the See also:village of Oberwaldenburg, pop. (1905) 4958, with a See also:chateau and some coal mines. Waldenburg became a town in 1426.
