Its See also:chief See also:industries are See also:cotton and See also:wool-See also:spinning and the See also:weaving of See also:cloth, but machinery of various kinds, See also:paper and a few other articles are also manufactured. In addition to the usual See also:schools, Werdau contains a weaving-school. The town is mentioned as See also:early as 1304 and in 1398 it was See also:purchased by the See also:margrave of See also:Meissen, who afterwards became elector of Saxony.
