S. from See also:Wiesbaden, of which it is the See also:river See also:port, and on the See also:main See also:line of railway from See also:Cologne to See also:Frankfort-on-Main. Pop. (1900) 15,048; (1905) 20,137. The See also:palace of the former See also:dukes of Nassau occupies a See also:fine position on the river bank, and the shady gardens and groves attract large See also:numbers of visitors during the summer. It is an important steamboat station for both passenger and See also:cargo See also:traffic, and besides manufactures of See also:cement, dyes and See also:soap, has a considerable See also:trade in the wines of the See also:district.
