DATIA , a native See also:

state of Central See also:India, in the See also:Bundelkhand agency. It lies in the extreme See also:north-See also:west of Bundelkhand, near See also:Gwalior, and is surrounded on all sides by other, states of Central India, except on the See also:east where it meets the See also:United Provinces. The state came under the See also:British See also:government after the treaty of See also:Bassein in 1802. See also:Area, 911 sq. m. Pop. (1901) 173,759. Estimated See also:revenue, £70,000; See also:tribute to Sindhia paid through the ' See also:Lat. dactylus, See also:finger, hence See also:fruit of the date See also:palm, gave O.
