GEISLINGEN , a See also:

town of See also:Germany in the See also:kingdom of See also:Wurttemberg, on the Thierbach, 38 m. by See also:rail E.S.E. of See also:Stuttgart. Pop. (1905) 7050. It has shops for the See also:carving and turning of See also:bone, See also:ivory, See also:wood and See also:horn, besides See also:iron-See also:works, machinery factories, See also:glass-works, See also:brewing and See also:bleaching works, &c. The See also:church of St See also:Mary contains wood-carving by Jorg Syrlin the Younger. Above the town See also:lie the ruins of the See also:castle of Helfenstein, which was destroyed in 1552. Having been for a few years in the See also:possession of See also:Bavaria, the town passed to Wurttemberg in 1810. See Weitbrecht, Wanderungen durch Geislingen and See also:seine Umgebung (Stuttgart, 1896).
