It is served by the Pennsylvania, the See also:Baltimore & See also:Ohio, the Kane & See also:Elk, and the Big Level & Kinzua See also:railways. It is situated about 2015 ft. above the See also:sea in a region producing natural See also:gas, oil, See also:lumber and See also:silica, and has some reputation as a summer resort. The borough has manufactories of window See also:glass, See also:plate glass and bottles, and repair shops of the Pennsylvania railroad. Kane was settled in 1859, and was incorporated as a borough in 1887. It was named in See also:honour of its founder Gen. See also:- THOMAS
