S.S.W. of See also:Belgrade, in a valley of the Shumadia, or " See also:forest-See also:land," and on the Lepenitsa, a small stream flowing See also:north-See also:east to join the Morava. On the opposite See also:bank stands the picturesque See also:hamlet of Obilichevo, with a large See also:powder factory. Kraguyevats itself is the See also:main See also:arsenal of Servia, and possesses an See also:iron-foundry and a See also:steam See also:flour-See also:mill. It is the seat of the See also:district prefecture, of a tribunal, of a See also:fine library, and of a large See also:garrison. It boasts the finest See also:college See also:building and the finest See also:modern See also:cathedral (in See also:Byzantine See also:style) in Servia. In the first years of Servia's See also:autonomy under See also:Prince Milosh, it was the See also:residence of the prince and the seat of See also:government (1818-1839). Even later, between 1868 and 188o, the See also:national See also:assembly (Narodna Skupshtina) usually met there. In 1885 it was connected by a See also:branch See also:line (Kraguyevats-Lapovo) with the See also:principal railway (Belgrade-See also:Nish), and thenceforward the prosperity of the See also:town steadily increased.
